MC² (2022) - Oil and Acrylic on Canvas
In MC², Juncadella references Einstein’s formula E = mc², presenting it as a universal key to creation. The upper section evokes the Cosmic Microwave Background, a field of primordial noise from which all matter emerged. As the painting descends, broad acrylic pools and dense textures symbolize the universe cooling, giving shape to colossal, unseen forces that drive creation. Thick oil squares layered with acrylic washes suggest the birth of galaxies, while smaller strokes trace the invisible presence of dark energy. Through this work, Juncadella reinterprets scientific theory as both cosmic blueprint and spiritual metaphor, where energy transforms endlessly into matter, light, and life.
